        Knights of the Risen was a game that a couple of my class mates and I started developing when we first started school. We first started in Construct 2 with a 2D rendition of the game and then revived it later as our Mod Team project.

        My role on the game was the art lead and visual effect designer. All the torches and particle effects you see are all my designs. I especially liked this game because it was the first time diving into the visual effects world and i instantly fell in love. I learned quickly that any particle can look good by loading it up with particles but had to quickly learn that for any budget, it would be a nightmare, not to mention it would lag the game out. My first fire was easily over 100 particles and it was a fun challenge finding new ways to manipulate the particles so that it ended around 25.
